Who is the ARAR for?

• bar staff

• supermarket cashiers

• waiters/waitresses

• cashiers in any other shop selling alcohol

Staff in any other licensed premises where alcohol is sold.

Candidates choose the BIIAB Level1Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing (ARAR) because it enables them to:

• Understand the main points of licensing law

• Recognise the responsibilities associated with the retail sale

of alcohol

• Understand their duties concerning under-age sales and

serving persons who are drunk

• Support the designated premises supervisor to retail alcohol

responsibly.
